This policy explains what information G.O.L.D.I.E (the AI chat agent on this site) and this website collect, how that information is used, and how you can request its deletion.
This site is operated by Mathew Goldston, an individual based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about how your data is handled, you can reach out via the contact section of the portfolio or by asking Goldie directly.
Under UK GDPR and equivalent data protection laws, personal data must be processed on a lawful basis. This site relies on legitimate interests as the basis for session data — specifically, to provide a coherent and functional conversation experience. Where you choose to share personal details (such as your name, company, or contact information), that processing is based on your explicit provision of that data for the stated purpose of contacting Mathew. You may withdraw at any time by requesting deletion.
When you start a conversation with Goldie, a session is created and stored in a database. That session record may contain:
Sessions are automatically deleted after 7 days with no action required on your part.
No session data is sold or used for advertising.
A random session ID is stored in your browser's localStorage so Goldie can remember context within and across visits during the 7-day window. This ID is not linked to any external identity and is only used to retrieve your session record from the database.
Running this site requires a small number of third-party services, each acting as a data processor on behalf of Mathew Goldston:
Session data is stored in AWS EU West 2 (London) and does not leave the UK/EEA region via AWS. However, conversation messages are processed by Anthropic PBC, a US-based company. This constitutes an international transfer of data under UK GDPR. Anthropic operates under its published Data Processing Addendum and applicable US privacy frameworks. By using Goldie, you acknowledge that your chat messages will be processed by Anthropic in the United States.
AWS CloudWatch receives standard application logs generated by the Lambda function that powers Goldie. These logs may contain session identifiers and, in error cases, fragments of request data. Logs are retained for a limited period and are used solely for debugging and operational purposes. When you request deletion of your data, Goldie will also attempt to delete any log streams that reference your session ID.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand general site usage — such as pages viewed and visit duration. Analytics is only loaded if you accept cookies via the cookie banner. No personally identifiable information is intentionally sent to Google.
You can manage your cookie preference at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer, or read more in the Cookie Policy.
The easiest way to delete your session data is to ask Goldie. Simply open the chat and say something like "please delete my data" or "forget everything about me" and Goldie will process the deletion immediately, including any associated application logs.
Alternatively, you can contact Mathew directly via the contact form and your session will be removed manually.
Because sessions automatically expire after 7 days, data will be deleted within that window regardless. Note that deletion requests cannot retroactively remove data already processed by Anthropic's API or data held in contact emails received by Mathew.
Under UK GDPR and equivalent data protection laws, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, ask Goldie or use the contact form.
